Deep Learning Powered Holographic Microscopy for Biothreat Detection on Field

HoloZcan introduces a new tool for security actors—including police, relief workers, disaster managers, crisis managers, and stakeholders responsible for public safety, critical infrastructure, and service provision—in the fields of autonomous detection and response capabilities.

Funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program, the HoloZcan Consortium is coordinated by Ideas Science Ltd and comprises nine organizations from five different EU countries.

The project aims to enhance the bio-aerosol sensing and measurement capabilities of CBRN practitioners, both environmental and exhaled. It will do so by developing a high-resolution, high-throughput, automated, and highly portable detection system that can automatically classify pathogens and particles.
